Hi, my name is Michael Addidle. I have been writing this microbiology blog/website on and off for 10 years. Time passes quickly!

I work as a clinical microbiologist in a large diagnostic laboratory in New Zealand in a growing city called Tauranga.

I was born and brought up in Belfast in Northern Ireland and went to medical school in Edinburgh.

I have six children between the ages of 6 and 19, none of whom want to be microbiologists!
